 Mr. Michael Mooketsi Tlhagwane

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 

Mr. Michael Mooketsi Tlhagwane graduated from University of Botswana in 1992 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce (Accounting). He started his professional career at Botswana Telecommunications Corporation where he spent 9⅟₂ years. He started as a Trainee Accountant and progressed to the postion of Regional Finance Manager North. In April 2001 he joined Botswana Medical Aid Society as Financial Accountant and was later promoted to Finance Manager. After a period of five years at Bomaid, he left to join Motor Vehicle Accident Fund as General Manager Corporate Services a position which he held for 6years and eight months. In January 2013 he took a lateral move and joined Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority where he spend 3years and nine months. Mr. Tlhagwane rejoined MVA Fund on October 1st 2016 as the Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Tlhagwane has acquired a vast experience accross a number of industries spanning over 24 years. He is an associate member of Chartered Institute of Managament Accountant (CIMA) and a Fellow of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). He obtained a Masters in Business Administation (MBA) from University of Derby and two (2) executive development programmes from Centre for Continuing Leadership and University of Stellenbsoch Business School.

 

 

 

 

 

 Ms. Colleen Motswaiso

General Manager- Corporate Services

 

Colleen graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce- Accounting degree from the University of Botswana. She started her professional career at the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation, progressing from Trainee to Senior Manager. She then spent four years at Engen Botswana limited as Finance and Administration Manager. She also worked for Metropolitan Life Botswana as Finance Manager and Company Secretary before joining MVA Fund in 2013.  She is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).

 

 

 

 

 

 Ms. Keetsemang Nkoko

Chief Investment Officer

 

Ms. Keetsemang Nkoko is a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree graduate from the University of Botswana. She joined the MVA Fund as an Accounts Officer in 2001 and later moved to the Investment department as a Senior Investment Officer in 2009. Ms Nkoko was appointed to the position of Investment Manager in January 2014. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). She is currently the Chief Investment Officer.

 

 

 

 

 

Ms. M Ditirwa

General Manager, Customer Services

 

Mpule Ditirwa joined the Fund as Customer Services Manager, she was later appointed General Manager, Customer Services in April 2009. She brings a wealth of experience as a Nurse Midwife and an Educator from the Institute of Health Sciences. She holds Master’s Degree in Nursing from Sydney University, Australia.

 

 

Ms. Poppy Moribame

Human Resources Manager

 

Poppy C. Moribame joined the Fund in January 1996. She became the Human Resources Manager in February 2009. She has previous experience in Customer Services, Administration, Public Education and Public Relations. Ms Moribame obtained both her Bachelor of Business Administration – Management and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Botswana.

 

 

Mr. P Mogae

Strategy Manager

 

Phenyo B. Mogae joined the Fund in August 2004 as a Claims Investigator. Over the years, he rose through various ranks until December 2008 when he was appointed Strategy Manager. His job entails developing and accounting for corporate planning, including Fund wide strategic planning and corporate project management systems. Phenyo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Botswana, and is currently pursuing Masters of Science in Strategic Management with University of Derby.

 

 

Mr. Thabo Morotsi

Corporate Communications Manager

 

Mr Thabo Morotsi holds a Masters of Science in Leadership and Change Management from the Leeds Metropolitan University, a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Botswana, Certificate Of Proficiency (CoP) from the Insurance Institute of Southern Africa (IISA- RSA), Management Development Programme (MDP) from the University Of Stellenbosch (RSA). Before joining the Fund, he worked for Organizations such as Gaborone City Council, Kweneng Land Board and Letshego Holdings.

 

 

Mr. Thomas Brandy

Information Technology Manager

 

Thomas Brandy holds a Masters of Science Degree in Computing from Teesside University, an Honours Degree in Computer Studies from the University of Sunderland and a Diploma in Network Centred Computing from NIIT.  He also holds a Senior Management Development Programme certificate obtained from the University of Stellenbosch. Brandy rose through the ranks until he was appointed the Information Technology Manager in April 2009.

 

 

Mr. MOMPATI BONTSIBOKAE

Chief Injury Prevention Officer

 

Mompati Bontsibokae joined the MVA Fund on the 1st December 2008 as Claims Manager Investigations. He brings a wealth of experience in the traffic safety and policing environment from Botswana Police Service where he worked for 15 years in the Traffic Division. He holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Road Traffic and Municipal Police Management, and Diploma in Road Traffic and Municipal Police Management from Tshwane University of Technology in RSA. He is a trained Accident Investigator and Reconstructionist with the Northwestern University Center For Public Safety, Illinois, USA. Furthermore, he underwent a number of management courses such as Management Development Programme from the University Of Stellenbosch Business School, Project Management from Botswana National Productivity Center, and Quality Management System from Botswana National Productivity Center.

 

 

Ms Bona Ramotlhwa

 Customer Services Manager

 

Ms Ramotlhwa joined the fund in 2007 as a Claimants' Walfare Officer. She had previously worked for Childline Botswana and Botswana Red Cross Society. She graduated from the University of Botswana with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a Master's Degree in Business Administration. She was appointed Assistant Case Manager-Welfare in January 2013. She is currently the Customer Service Manager. 

 

 
 

Mrs. Lydia Masilo-Nkhoma

Case Manager

 

 Mrs Masilo Nkhoma is a qualified Physiotherapist (University College Dublin, Ireland) and brings a wealth of experience in medical rehabilitation from her 8 years of practice from both Princes Marina Hospital and Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where she was a Principal Physiotherapist. She holds a Masters in Physiotherapy- Musculoskeletal Stream and a Post Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health from University of Melbourne in Australia. She also underwent a Management Development Programme from the Stellenbosch Business School (RSA). Mrs Masilo- Nkhoma left Nyangabgwe as the Assistant Hospital Superintendent to take up the Position of Branch Manager at Francistown MVA Fund Office. She was later appointed Assistant Case Manager and Case Manager respectively.

 

 

Onthatile Tiny Ogotseng

Board Secretary

 

Ms Onthatile Tiny Ogotseng is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of Botswana and a member of the Law Society of Botswana. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in law and has a Certificate of Proficiency from the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA-RSA). Ms Ogotseng also holds a Management Development Programme from the University Of Stellenbosch Business School. She joined the MVA Fund in 2008 as a Legal Officer and was promoted to Claims Supervisor- Assessment. She is currently the Board Secretary of the MVA Fund.

 

Ms. Martha Seipato

Finance Manager

 

Martha held various senior positions in Finance and Management at Botswana Life Insurance. She was also the Finance Manager at the Competition Authority before joining MVA Fund in 2013. She holds a Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies from the University of Botswana, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Derby, a CoP in life insurance and a Management Development Programme from University if Stellenbosch. She is a fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).

Ms. Susan Madimabe

 Chief Claims Assessments & Investigations Officer

 

 Ms Susan Madimabe holds a Bachelor’s of Social Sciences from the University of Botswana. Ms Madimabe also holds a Management Development Programme and Leadership Development Programme from the University Of Stellenbosch Business School. She also holds an MSc Strategic Management from University of Derby - Derbyshire Business School. MS. Madimabe joined the MVA Fund in 2003 as a Senior Investigations Officer and was promoted to the position of Customer Services Manager in 2009.In her position as the Customer services Manager, she has been active in various projects within the MVA Fund. Ms Madimabe is currently the Change Champion of the MVA Fund.In April 01 2014, Ms Madimabe was transferred to the Claims & Investigations Department as the Chief Claims Assessments & investigations Officer.

 

Mr. Lesesa Mtonga

 Case Manager, Walfare

 

 Mr Lesesa Henry Mtonga is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of Botswana and a member of the Law Society of Botswana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in law and has a Management Development Programme from the University of Stellenbosch Business School. He joined the MVA Fund in 2000 as a Legal Officer and he rose through the ranks until he was appointed Claims Manager right of Recourse and Review in 2008. He is currently the Case Manager ,Welfare..
